The Bean Bin

We made a new sensory bin last week. It was a whole bunch of dried beans in a box and I gave Gideon measuring spoons and his stacking cups. He went to town. He really loves this one. So much so that we bust it out at least every other day. And you see that white shower curtain under him...Yeah that was my brilliant friend Elaine's idea. It's awesome because it doesn't matter how big of a mess he makes. I can just lift up the shower curtain and dump the beans back in the container. Like I said....BRILLIANT!!

I must say these bin ideas are keeping me sane. It is SO COLD outside. I'm trying so hard to keep Gideon well because surgery is just 6 days away so we haven't been going outside too much. And honestly, I'm trying to keep us in a little bubble right now. You wouldn't believe how many play dates have been cancelled because of sick kids. It's a total bummer! I miss my friends and their kiddos! But I realize this is just a season and it won't be this way forever. Hope you are all staying warm!

  1. Just snuck some time to catch up over here.... You go, MOMMA!!!! These activities are awesome bonding time AS WELL AS sensory time. What a great idea. Will be stealing some of them - sooner than later, I would hope.

Not been on the blogs a lot this winter. Fore one thing, I've found this month especially, it's been too hard on my heart. It's been a hard three weeks with delays of our I800 and too many cute Chinese faces in one day leaves me grumpy and longing for Brynna :( How's that for brutal honesty?!

I know you can't make it to the LHAA lunch cuz of G's surgery. I guess we'll have to meet in person another time and chat. Hope you are all well.

  3. Has G turned into a big boy overnight? He doesn't look like the tiny little baby you brought home a short while ago!

  4. Tracy...I'm so sorry you're having a tough time with the wait. With every hurdle you face, I think...What now?? You know that I totally feel your pain after all of our crazy journey. I know you already know this, but here's a quick reminder....God WILL get you there in HIS perfect timing! With all of the delays to bring G home, I doubted that truth so many times, but I was wrong. It all makes sense in the end. Trust that God is working up stream for your family. He is and you will magically forget about all of this waiting as soon as you hold your sweet girl in your arms for the first time. I promise! That being said...it simply SUCKS! No other way to put it! Enduring it all is just the pits! Love you sweet friend!

And Meg...don't remind me. He's never really been a tiny boy, but he is growing so so fast. I wish I could stop time.
