Now before you think I'm totally full of myself, know I am kidding here....kind of ;) After a few days of bad attitudes (both Gideon and I), temper tantrums, poor eating, clinginess and all around fussiness it feels especially good when you have a day where you just rock it!
I, bravely, decided to have my two nieces over for the day and I was on my own for the first time with three kiddos.....AAAAHHHHH!!!!!! I texted Ryan when the girls were on their way over and said, "Pray this was a good decision!" Ha!
So, before they got here we had our typical morning...

| G loves to throw away his own diaper in the morning. So funny! He looks so tired here. |
So, I knew I needed a fun activity that all three kids would love. I was drawing a blank and didn't have time to look through all of my Pinterest pins. On a side note, later that night I reorganized my Pinterest Boards so that I can find things easier....LOVE!
So my friend reminded me about this Bread Painting idea. I just knew they would all love it. It was great too because we had tons of time to just talk while we all sat at the table. I miss my time with the girls. It's so different now so it was really fun!
And now to the funny Hazel comments of the day! This child cracks me up! We were talking about how she was like my mini-mommy because she was helping me out with the two little ones. I told her she was going to make a great mommy one day. This is the conversation that followed...
Hazel: Oh no Mesa! I don't want to have kids.
Me: (Laughing) Why not Haze?
Hazel: Because I don't want to have to get stitches in my belly!
Me: (Really Laughing) You think because Mommy got stitches with Pearl that you will have to do that too?
Hazel: Yep! So I'm not having kids!
Me: Well, what about me, girl? I don't have stitches in my belly and I'm Giddy's mama
Hazel: You're right, Mesa! Yep, that's what I'll do. I want to get a China-baby too!
Me: I think that would be so cool Haze. And if Jesus tells your heart to do that I really hope you say yes!
Hazel: (Starts Praying at the table immediately) Dear God, Please make my heart want to have a China-baby just like Mesa!
*Oh I love this child! She has always been so special to me, but now that she's getting a little older and we can sit and talk like this, she just really has a hold of my heart! Keep in mind she is only 4 years old.
Ok...second funny thing she did...
The girls both know that we have been teaching Gideon sign language to communicate. Well, they both think it's cool so they have started to pick some of it up as well. It's really cute. So, we are sitting at the table and Gideon saw a bird and did the sign for bird. Hazel says, "Mesa, what's the Chinese for bird?" I told her I didn't know! She said, "Yes you do! Gideon just did the Chinese for bird!"
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! She thinks Sign Language is Chinese! That is probably one of the funniest things she's ever said! Can't help but adore her!

So this next picture is what explains the title of my post! I couldn't believe it, but I actually had all three kids in their own room. Do you know how awesome that felt? The thought of having three kids in my house by myself was terrifying LOL While I know many of you do it with many more kids every day, one kid is challenging enough for me :) But it was a great day....we had a nice lunch, played with a really fun activity that all three kids loved, had some great conversations, and the littles took naps and my big almost five year old had quiet time. I got to snuggle up with her, eat pretzels in bed and watch a movie and it was just what I needed....some alone time with my Haze! I would say it was quite a success...worthy of Super Mommy Status for the Day in my book!

| Nap time....It's a beautiful thing! |
Then later that afternoon, because we just can't seem to get enough of each other, we went over to my sister's house for dinner! We live VERY close to one another, which is AWESOME!!! We usually see each other at least two times a week.
My sister has been amazing in really listening to our "rules" with Gideon! She always asks if whatever she is about to do is okay.
To fill you in, we have been VERY intentional about Ryan and I being the only ones to take care of Gideon's needs. We are the only ones to feed him, change him, put him to bed, hold him...basically everything. It has really helped to teach him that we are his parents and we are family. We haven't wanted to force him to be held by even our closest family members. We are letting him get comfortable in his own time because we know that is so much better in the long run.
All this to say, my sister ROCKS! As hard as its been for her, because she just adores our little boy, she has stood back and been oh so patient. Well, after two months of seeing her at least two times a week, Gideon has really started to warm up to her and to love her like I always knew he would. In the last couple of days, he has given her hugs goodbye and he just recently put his arms up for her to hold her. Oh IT WARMS MY HEART! To see my sister holding our boy and the pure joy and love on both of their faces is a beautiful thing!
And when I think of the patience it took to let him get there on his own and the trust and lasting bond that established it just makes me cry! I'm sure not everything we do relating to adoption/attachment will make sense to people, even to Gina, but it doesn't matter. She supports it anyway and that is just awesome!
And now...look at her reward...
He LOVES HER!!!

Though I don't often comment I do enjoy seeing and reading all that your family overcomes. Intentional parenting is hard work...so glad your family is supportive!
